Our Favorite Things – July 2017 Edition

Whether you’re looking to update your home, get a remodel planned or you’re just an interior design enthusiast, we’ve got our list of favorite trends for the month!

Geometric Patterns

Everything from floors to walls, to table-tops – Geometric Patterns are everywhere and for a good reason too!  The lines add texture and layering to your space, they create a feast for your eyes and turn a flat wall or surface into something exciting and different.  Geometric patterns can also help transform a traditional design into something more transitional.

Our Tip:  Get Bold and create an accent wall in a focal part of your home, or for a more subtle approach, use geometric pattern tiles or wallpaper in a guest powder room.

Metallics

Want to add a wow factor to your space?  Add some metallic accents!  You can start off small with some metallic textiles on accent pieces like throw pillows or an end table, or you can create a memorable feature in a kitchen by adding a metallic mosaic back splash or a metallic ceiling soffit to add some pizzazz to the room.

Our Tip:  Pair your Metallic with some dark furniture or paint to create some drama.

Two-Toned Cabinets

A huge trend that’s been picking up is two-toned kitchen cabinets.  Why we love it?  Two-toned cabinets help create some visual interest and contrast in your kitchen. When utilizing Two-Tone cabinets, you can create a focal point in your kitchen by having your island be a contrasting color to the rest of your kitchen.  Another great way to utilize two-toned cabinets is by having contrasting Wall and Base Cabinets.

Our Tip:  Choose a darker color for your base cabinets to hide finger prints and smudges and stains or a contrasting light color for wall cabinets to pull your eyes upwards. Choose a dark color for your wall cabinets to give the illusion of lowered ceiling and a cozier space for those Kitchens with enormous ceilings.
